Study: overweight mom = hyperactive child
A Scandinavian study has found that if a woman is overweight when she becomes pregnant, the probability is much greater that her child will evince ADHD-like symptoms when he/she reaches school age.
But why? Theories include the higher instance of complications in overweight pregnant women, stress hormones stored in body fat, or a genetic connection.

New Study of C-Section Risk
Another reason to avoid an elective c-section: A study in the British Medical Journal found that women who had caesarean deliveries had twice the risk of severe illnesses and complications or death compared to women who had vaginal deliveries.
